It's written for the newer operator with a presumption of some knowledge of the equipment and techniques and helps to push them along toward a higher level of competence. It's not a bad refresher for the 'old hands' either

This book will help novice operators eliminate the trial and error of learning new techniques while introducing experienced operators to new or faster methods. Safety, maintenance, and types of attachments are some of the topics discussed. Also covered are excavator maneuvers, earthwork, loading, and removals and demolition.
